On this line you meet others who are just like you: Gira people who want as much music as possible, but not necessarily every day. On days when the sun is shining you would rather pack your backpack and explore Sunnmøre. Or Tanzania/Zanzibar for that matter.
Music
To take one thing out of the way: Most days you're in the practice room, in the studio or on stage. Here you develop what you're already good at. If guitar is your main instrument, it's still not unlikely that you're sitting behind the drum kit at house concerts and jam sessions.
You will learn more about songwriting, vocal technique, collaboration, arranging, recording and mixing. Instruments, Macs and Logic are available for free use when your song is to be recorded. At the school's musical you can stand on stage, play in a band or work with sound/lights in front of 2500 spectators. There will also be concerts, artist meetings and teaching by a singing teacher.
Open air
On days off, you still get so much more. Then you'll be excited about kayaking, skiing, surfing, climbing, caving, Via Ferrata, RIB and water sports. It spices up your everyday life and you test yourself in new areas.
Africa
The highlight for many will still be the trip to Tanzania. Then you will have strong human encounters in a Masai village and you will cook over a fire together with an extended family outside their thatched hut. On safari you will get frighteningly close to lions and elephants before the stay ends with a djembe course, chalky white beaches and azure seas on Zanizibar.
This is, as I said, a year where Music feat. Friluft – mixed with Tanzania.
You don't want to miss that, do you?
Still curious?
